My interest in amateur radio began in childhood, fueled by curiosity, creativity, and learning how to do more with less. Like many young hams of that era, I started with simple crystal-controlled CW equipment, later moving into AM operation and building stations from whatever parts and resources I could find. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong fascination with electronics, communications, and experimentation.
Professionally, I spent more than four decades as an Electrical and Biomedical Engineer working with companies focused on quality, reliability, and life-sustaining technologies — from small startups to global leaders including Medtronic and Apple.
Amateur radio has remained a constant throughout my life. I’ve always been active in local radio clubs, including serving as President of Lincoln Hills Amateur Radio Group (LHARG), and I am currently a member of the Boca Raton Amateur Radio Association. Long time member of the ARRL.
For the past 20+ years, most of my operating activity has centered on HF SSB and digital modes including FT8, along with occasional VHF/UHF operation. Over the years I’ve owned and operated nearly every major Elecraft transceiver platform, combining a love of operating with ongoing technical experimentation and station optimization.
